Her debut single, Here in 2015 when she was 19 years old. It received praise from listeners and music critics. The song made it to the top 19 in both the Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's Best Songs. In that same year she debuted her album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks that peaked at Billboard charts. This includes those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. It was a special track because, based on her Rap-Up interview she conducted, many of the listeners could relate to her experience in learning to love themselves and rethinking their beliefs about her. Cara's music often contains positive thoughts about mental wellness and how important it is to love yourself. She has been struggling with insomnia and anxiety, which affected her life. When she spoke to Reuters, she said that her album was "half tumultuous" and "half flawless". The growth of her career was helped through therapy. She also encourages her fellow singers who need help to reach out for support. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11, 1996, to parents of Italian heritage. At the age of 10 old, her parents gifted her a guitar which became the starting point of her passion for music. Three years later at 13 years old, she began covering her favorite songs via YouTube a major media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she had the talents and determination to develop into a professional singer. Sweater Weather is one of those covers that led to her being noticed at the time by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create her own songs.
